Someone went shopping on my Amazon.com wishlist this year for Christmas and got me a CD by Lacuna Coil - “Unleashed Memories.” Lacuna Coil (meaning “empty spiral”) is an Italian goth heavy metal band from Milan with a sound reminiscent of Evanescence - clean and melodic female vocals, occasional 'metal style' vocals from a male band member, rich melodic songs using the metal distorted guitar where the music requires it and not as a constant noise throughout. As expected, there’s an official website for the band.
