James Bond is an English institution, and probably the single greatest money-maker for the British movie industry ever. In fact, as a franchise, it’s ranked in the highest grossing movie franchises of all time:
- Star Wars ($3.53 billion)
- James Bond ($3.33 billion)
- Rocky ($1.75 billion)
- Jaws ($1.31 billion)
- Star Trek ($1.25 billion)
- Lord of the Rings ($1.20 billion)
- Indiana Jones ($1.16 billion)
- The Exorcist ($1.07 billion)
- Batman ($993 million)
- Jurassic Park ($958 million)
Everyone has their favourite “Bond” - Pierce Brosnan, with Sean Connery as a close second for me - so it will be interesting to see how the new guy shapes up in the role. Has anyone seen anything that he’s been in and what’re your opinions of (a) your favourite Bond and (b) how Daniel Craig will perform in the role.
