I think “Knob : Borg” probably needs explanation (to stop speculation of whether Borg have, or have not, got knobs). I broke the knob on our dryer a few weeks ago. It was the one that turns it on and off, so pretty vital! The best replacement I could find from a local hardware store is a “generic utility knob” that’s about 1/2 of an inch bigger than the orginal, shiny silver where the other was matt-white and angular where the original was smooth and moulded. Basically it looks like the Star Trek Borg began assimilating the dryer, and stopped after one knob saying “its not worth it, our clothes drip-dry anyhow”.
