Audio Blog Entries

Well, the trip up to Chicago was largely uneventful. I love these long drives - its a time to listen to audio books and audio drama. We’ve settled into something of a tradition - listenning to Doctor Who audio drama created by Big Finish productions. When we were in England over Christmas (last) we took the time to visit the fabulous “Forbidden Planet” bookshop in London and pick up some of the harder-to-find sci-fi books and audio dramas. These returned with us but remained on a shelf until now, some 6 and a half months later! What’s even more frightening is that one of these stories Zagreus was left partly finished - we had listenned to 2 of the 3 disks, awaiting the next road-trip before we could finish it!

The drive was fun, split it in half and drive a shade over 2 and a half hours each, with the only down side being the extreme boredom of driving through the state of Illinois. How do long-distance truck drivers survive the boredom? I was fast approaching the point of chewing my own leg off with it … thank goodness we had beef jerky available as a substitute.

Tomorrow is the official start of the Vineyard regional pastors conference. Should be good. Assuming that we wake to the alarm, the cheap hotel we’re staying in (”well, at least its only for one night”) has breakfast available. Then it’s off to check-in at the conference and more importantly to connect up with the rest of the folks who’re travelling here tomorrow from our church. Yeah, finding 6 people in a crowd of several hundred, shouldnt be hard should it? I mean, we dont know when they’re planning on arriving, or where they have been assigned to be staying. Least the entire conference is staying on the campus of Wheaton College … cant be that hard to track them down, right?
