I dont remember blogging about the Evanescence concert on Saturday night, so it’s about time I wrote something. First of all:

taking over me
Taking Over Me

*What Song by Evanescence are You?*
brought to you by Quizilla

You might want to check out the website for the official Nintendo Fusion tour where Evanescence are the headline band. Then there are the VH1 and MTV pages for the band to consider. There was merchandice to be had at the concert but prices were rather high; I planned to look in on the official webstore for their goodies. Prices are way better online!

The concrt was awesome. 4 bands played: Cauterize (a 4 part “melodic punk-pop” band out of Canada), revis (5 piece band from Carbondale, Illinois), Cold (another 5 piece band) and Evanescence as headline band. Overall the bands got better as the night went on. Cold’s lightshow was the best, with them running in second place to Amy Lee of Evanescence in terms of sheer stage presence. If someone offered me the chance to see either Cold or Evanescence live again, I’d be there in a heartbeat!

This week’s Friday Five:

1. How much time do you spend online each day?

Few moments to check mail using a web based email interface, maybe read the news before work. I dont know - perhaps amounting to an hour or two a day?

2. What is your browser homepage set to?

It’s blank. Nada. Nothing. I like to choose where to go to, to jump directly at my desire than offer the large protal sites an advertizing opportunity.

3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?

Used a variety over the years but all the folks I talk to nowadays are offline. Personal preference is to use Jabber as it’s open sourced, and it connects to all the major systems.

4. Where was your first webpage located?

On the machine that hosted the BBS I was a part of - Soncrest BBS for those who are interested. At the time it was hosted by a company called Giant, so would have been something like http://soncrest.giant.net/~paul.

5. How long have you had your current website?

About a year and a half. We bought our own domain and it’s hosted there. Anyone interested in being hosted can use the “contact” form to get in touch.

We went to see S.W.A.T. the other night and finally there was a trailer for Timeline. Better still, the film has an official website Of course, while browsing around looking for movie trailers I found one for the new Russell Crowe movie “Master and Commander” (which, too, has a website). As a side note to that, Billy Boyd (Peregrin Took also known as ‘Pippin’ from Lord of the Rings) stars in Master and Commander.

A delicious counterpoint to the Latino action flick “Once Upon A Time In Mexico” (Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp, Salma Hayek, Willem Dafoe) is the upcoming Once Upon A Time In The Midlands starring Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty / The World Is Not Enough) and Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill).

Fascinating: having seen the trailer for “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”, I thought to myself that it looked a whole lot like it ought to be “Desperado II”, but it never mentioned the other movie. I then came to find on the IMDB page that the film is also known as Desperado II: Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

I’ve just added a page on the Chronicle Lite development wiki for users of the application to sign up and make comments to say they’re using the application.
